Underfloor heating has been known since ancient times - we see in the photo a sample of an ancient residence from the Museum in Dion, Katerini, in which they were using fire under the floor for heating. However, it began to spread more only in recent decades, with its demand increasing sharply in recent years, due to the low installation price of the system, which came to rival the installation of radiators.

Electric underfloor heating heats the entire surface of the floor evenly, ensuring the balanced distribution of heat in the room with great speed and accuracy, without drying out the atmosphere. It is offered for heating any space either independently or in combination with other systems (e.g. radiators).

The advantages of electric underfloor heating over other ways of heating are:

The installation of electric underfloor heating can be done with the usage of 2 different systems, either with electric thermal cables or with electric thermal carpet.

·         CONSTRUCTION

Electric underfloor heating is laid after the coatings and before the final floor coverings.

In the rooms where it will be installed, insulating plates and insulating wall tape are initially installed. Then, the cable or mesh is laid and fixed with supports, according to our study, so that during heating the thermal needs of each space are covered.

Immediately after their installation, they are covered with cement mortar (-during the period when they are still uncovered, one should avoid using the floor for heavy work). We believe that the cement mortar has dried after a week. Before that, it is forbidden to start the operation of thermal cables.

Then the floor is ready to receive the final coating (marble, tiles, wood, etc.).

The way of installation of the finished floor in the cement mortar depends on its type. Particular attention is required in the installation of glued wooden flooring and marble. The floor installer must have certified the natural drying of the cement mortar and the absence of moisture before proceeding with the installation.

The wooden flooring to be installed must be certified for use with underfloor heating.

The installation of underfloor heating with wooden nail flooring is carried out after the installation of the floor frame by the installer.
