"Replacing My Heating System and Water Heater" Program

Our company participates as a supplier in the "Replacing Heating Systems and Water Heaters" program, available at , run by the Ministry of Environment and Energy.

The program provides you with a subsidy for the purchase and installation of new solar water heaters and/or state-of-the-art heat pump systems.

Specifically, regarding the features of the “Heating System and Water Heater Replacement” program:

In addition to providing financial assistance to households for the installation of new solar water heaters and/or state-of-the-art heat pump systems, the program also offers the option of replacing energy-inefficient, older-technology electric water heaters. However, this provision is not a prerequisite for interested parties to participate in the program.

It is worth noting that of the 223.2 million euros that make up its total budget, 44.6 million euros are earmarked for energy-vulnerable households.

The program's main objectives include: improving the energy efficiency of households and saving money by reducing energy consumption.

In addition, it will help reduce the use of heating systems that rely on fossil fuels and biomass, which contribute particulate matter to the atmosphere.

Through the “Replacing My Heating System and Water Heater” program, the following are subsidized:

  • The purchase of a new, state-of-the-art solar water heater, subsidized at a rate of 50% or 60%, with the exact percentage determined based on income criteria.

  • The purchase of a new heat pump system, at a rate of 50%.

  • The cost of necessary additional work related to the installation of eligible equipment (e.g., transportation costs, installation costs, consumables, and parts, etc.), at a rate of 50% or 60% (depending on income criteria).

The program is intended for households that wish to install the above-mentioned eligible equipment in their home (primary or secondary residence, whether rented or owned).

Meanwhile, as part of the “Replace Your Heating System and Water Heater” program, emphasis is being placed on potential beneficiaries of another program, “Recycle – Replace Your Water Heater,” who have unredeemed vouchers. Specifically, interested parties who have not yet redeemed their vouchers are invited to submit a new application using the same Tax Identification Number (AFM).

Funding applications are evaluated on a comparative basis, taking into account whether or not there is a family member with a disability, whether the application concerns families with three or more dependent children, and whether the residence is located in regions with high levels of air pollution (only for the new heat pump system), and in areas with a high number of degree-days.

Funding applications from interested parties will be accepted only electronically from January 8, 2025, through March 31, 2025, and must be submitted via the program’s official website (https://allazothermansi-thermosifona.gov.gr). Those interested in further information may call the following number (available starting January 8, 2025): 2131513753 (weekdays, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.).
